2018 - PIM To The Rescue!
In 2017, the Crathes Castle Half Marathon — a much-loved fixture on the North East Scotland running calendar — was at risk of disappearing. Its long-term sponsor had pulled out, and without support the event faced collapse.
When a plea for help went out on social media stating the 2018 event may not go ahead, PIM didn’t hesitate and stepped in as title sponsor. This was an easy decision — the event brings people together, encourages health and fitness, supports the National Trust site at Crathes Castle, and draws visitors into Aberdeenshire from across the region.
The event was saved, and the newly named PIM Half Marathon at Crathes Castle took place on Saturday 15th September.
This year also saw an important addition to the programme — a 1.5km children’s race, giving younger runners the chance to take part and marking the beginning of a more family-focused direction for the event.
