The PIM Running Festival returned to the stunning grounds of Crathes Castle on Saturday, 13th September, and it didn’t disappoint. With entries capped at 900, the festival sold out for the first time — a clear milestone in its growing popularity since PIM took over sponsorship of the Crathes Half Marathon in 2018.
From its beginnings as a single half marathon, the event has evolved into a full running festival, now attracting runners of all ages and abilities. The addition of the 1.5k Kids Race and 5k has made it a family-friendly event, creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with friends, families, supporters, and PIM staff with their families all taking part.
We love welcoming familiar faces returning each year, and it’s equally inspiring to see youngsters who once took part in the 1.5k Kids Race stepping up to the 5k. The festival also recognises the achievements of veteran runners from the over-50’s to over-70’s categories — a tradition that highlights how the event celebrates a love of running at every stage.
We are incredibly grateful to the National Trust for Scotland team at Crathes Castle and to all the volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly. Their dedication, combined with the energy and enthusiasm of everyone taking part, made the day truly memorable.
PIM is proud to sponsor the now well-established highlight in the North East’s running calendar, and we can’t wait to see how it continues to grow. Whatever your age or experience, we are looking forward to welcoming you all back in 2026 for what promises to be another fantastic day!
